I have 5 otos in my 27G heavily planted tank and 3 in my 15G (also heavily planted) tank. Between them and my nerite snails, I know I don't have the algae to sustain them, but I drop wafers and every week I give them a wedge of zucchini (it's more nutritious than cucumber). It takes about 24 hours for it to soften to the point where they'll really dig into it, but they definitely eat it. :) My otos are all pretty chubby now :P

Mine did very well on algae wafers and zucchini and sometimes spinach, but the food had to sit and get super soggy before they'd start chowing down. I loved watching mine when I had them! They're so cute, I'd love to have them again when I can have a larger tank!

I will definitely invest in some Otos when I'm a more experienced fish keeper. My main priority is working on my aquascaping skills though :)
