Hi SageMyster, I like your blog and am in full agreement about the size of bettas' hearts! Your enthusiasm for these wonderful fishes is remarkable. I enjoyed your account of setting up a betta tank for your friend; good to hear it all worked out. Your impassioned plea to consider the merits of a one-gallon tank for a betta makes a lot of sense. You clearly have the commitment to make it work, and in fact pictures I have seen of betta enthusiasts' tanks reveal a lot of containers less than 2.5 gallons, with the proviso that their water is changed diligently. Objectors to smaller tanks are thinking in terms of water cleanliness and temperature fluctuations. By the way, when you change their water, do you "cup" them or use a net? (I cup my little fellow when it's time for a water change, but sometimes the process is more traumatic than others.) Also, you might want to post your tumblr on the "Journals" page of these forums.
