Question Bubble nest question?

Okay this might sound like an odd question but of course I want the best for my little guy :P I've noticed that he doesn't make a bubble nest.. does this mean that he is not happy or could it even mean that maybe he is a girl? just wondering why he hasn't because my other betta did and he hasn't at all. I've had him since last friday. Any suggestions will be greatfully appreciated. the picture of him is my avatar.

Your fish is normal. Some male betta's will do it all the time and some less consistantly. Give him time to really get comfortable in his new surroundings.

It took my Betta 2 months before he started asking them. Now he makes them constantly.

My sister's fish (who lives in a 1 gallon bowl) hadn't had his tank cleaned in 4 months or been fed in weeks. He had a bubble nest so big it rivaled breeding fishs'.

My fish, on the other hand, is in a perfectly warm, clean 3 gal, but wouldn't make a bubble nest for the life of him.

Sally, I will always love you. You were my babygirl and the gateway to my bettabug. Thank you.

Betta Fish don't make Bubblenests because they're happy, it's out of their instinct.

Over hundreds of bettas die in their small, dirty cups each day. Only you can help them live. Research and then save them, today!

Bubble nests are instinctual, they are not causes by: happiness, clean conditions, or size of the tank.

Some Males and even females make them.

Just because yours has made one or not made one doesn't mean a thing about its health or happiness. It is merely a happy surprise to see.

Don't feel bad if your betta doesn't make one.

Be a master of water and the fish will follow
