Shipping questions

Anyone know where to buy the bags for shipping bettas?

Is it necessary to treat the water with some sort of medicine that releases oxygen in the bag and removes ammonia in the water while the betta is being shipped?

Thanks for the future replies

I would check your local pet stores for bags. Here is some advice for shipping:
Double the bag and make sure the bag is 1 part water and 2 parts air. Also put an Almond leaf in the bag with the betta to reduce stress. Keep in mind the temps of where your fish is being shipped to. Then decide if you need to try to keep the box hot or cold with heating pads or ice packs. Fast the fish a day before shipping would be best to make sure the water stays as clean as possible. I would recommend using bubble wrap to pack the box.

Best of luck.

www.kensfish.com is where I get everything but the boxes and insulation.

Who am I? Well I am a Junior Member of the International Betta Congress and a breeder of white HMPKs, red dragon HMPKs, black/red dragon HMPKs, metallic multi HMPKs, blue masked HMPKs, and now multi color HMs. Soon to add black HMs. I will be showing in New Breeder class in fall of 2012.

I use either 3" by 18" bags or 4" by 18" bags.
