Hi! You've come to a great place to get information. I just recently joined as well because my sister bought me a betta for my birthday. These folks are really great and helpful.

I'd recommend at least a 5 gallon tank for your betta and make sure you have hiding spots for him in the tank. Mine has a log he likes to go in and peek out from. He's a ham. Any thoughts as to what kind of betta or colour?

I'm thinking blue, but I'm not sure what kind of Betta yet.

When I was five years old, my mother told me happiness was the key to life,
when I went to school and they asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I wrote 'happy,'
The told me I didn't understand the assignment, I told them they didn't understand life.

Im partial to the red bettas for some reason, though at my pet store that I frequent there is a GORGEOUS blue and tan betta that I want SO badly.

I've become very partial to short-finned bettas. They're quite different and do need extra room, being more inclined to zoom about.

As for names.. I usually wait to see the personality of the fish before choosing. They're all so different that way, some are more timid, some kind of goofy, others are really aggressive and bold.
