Longish fined female?

so i just got my female betta, im sure it is a female because I found the egg spot, and she has long flowing fins, this confuses me they usually have very short stiff fins, can anyone tell me the breed maybe?

Do you think you can post a picture?
I do believe it's possible for a male to have an egg spot...

Baby Buddha(M VT) ~ Oddball (M-DeTxHM)~ Little Chai ~ Lucky(F oto)

I seem to have a problem with collecting things with scales and fins. Oops

Roughly how long is your betta? Younger males sometimes have egg spots.

here, the quality int that great but you get the basic shape:
http://www.bettafish.com/picture.php...ictureid=26391
and she's about 1-1 1/2 inches without her back fin, with it she's about 1 3/4 inches, so not that long so i'm thinking she's a female, but idk

I agree. Those are some REALLY long fins for a female, plus he sounds young based on his size :)
Another thing you can do is put a mirror up to the tank and see what he looks like when flaring. A male will have a "beard" under him where as a female will not.

Its a girl.

Long fins... well they're long finned fish.

Body shape and gill plates scream female.

Who am I? Well I am a Junior Member of the International Betta Congress and a breeder of white HMPKs, red dragon HMPKs, black/red dragon HMPKs, metallic multi HMPKs, blue masked HMPKs, and now multi color HMs. Soon to add black HMs. I will be showing in New Breeder class in fall of 2012.
