Talking I see fin growth!

Dumbledore is going to be the death of me one of these days, I swear. I've been begging him to grow a pretty tail, long and drooping and wonderful. I've even shown him pictures of the other beautiful VTs so maybe he would get the hint? He's always had the clear finnage around the end of his tail and this morning, low and behold it's turning red. I think it's the change of food. I went from feeding a crappy food to a high protein pellet & blood worms and I got something in return. I'm so excited.

Oh gosh I forgot I posted this XP

I went away house sitting for a week leaving my fiance in charge of Dumbledore. I come back to a chewed up tail. -.- I think he missed me because since I've been home he hasn't chewed it anymore but I leave today for another week. UGH.

Yeah, same here. Mine's DVT fins look sorta ratty lately, but they look bigger and appear healthy when he flares. A change in food seems to have brought out more red in his underside also.

I think having a bigger tank to move around in, coupled with an abundance of plants to swim through has caused his appearance to change a bit. Or, he wasn't fully mature when I got him.

He looked really bad when I brought him home, now that I look at the pictures I took of him. He looked...Bland. Now he's full of color, long fins and a gorgeous dark mask over his head. I never though I'd get this attached to a fish, but I talk to him like I talk to a human, playing games and watching him. Yes, he chews his tail when I'm gone, yes he gets on my nerves when I'm trying to type and he's staring at me like O.O FEED ME, but all in all I love the little guy so much.
