Bubble Nest Question

When I first got Kudo he was in his one gallon tank and pretty much every day he was making bubble nests. He always had one in the corner and was guarding it, but since moving him from the gallon into his five gallon and now his ten gallon, he hasn't made one. Is something wrong? He seems happy and he eats normally (though he does eat a lot, he's a little piggy) so why won't he make a bubble nest?

Bubblenests don't mean Bettas are happy. They make it for breeding, and guarding territory. In my opinion, he's not making a nest because he's still not familiar to his upgrade yet. Sometimes they make nests, sometimes not at all.

Over hundreds of bettas die in their small, dirty cups each day. Only you can help them live. Research and then save them, today!

I understand that bubble nests do not mean whether or not he is happy, my question was is there a specific reason as to why he has stopped building nests and you've answered that by saying he's not used to his surroundings. It's been about a week in his 10 gallon tank so it's all pretty new still that makes sense. Thanks.

My betta is very picky about currents on the surface of his water, and where the floating plants are. If everything is just right, he'll actually build a nest. Otherwise, there's just a whole bunch of random bubbles stuck to the sides of the tank, or floating about.
