Smile New Fishy :D

I got a new male crowntail a few hours ago (to replace my recently dead one D:) I wish I could insert a pic of him but I can't since I'm typing this on an iPod..unless there's a way to insert it that idk of :O but his body is like ombré..his head and part of his body is dark blue and then it gets lighter towards the end of his body. His fins and tail are a lighter blue and then the ends of them are red :P
He was pretty active in the fish store but now in the bowl he's not swimming around. I guess it's because he's still a bit in shock. How long is it suppose to take until they become active again? :P like a day?
I guess this is a bit pointless haha but I'm excited to get a crowntail! :D

My crowntail is very similar to that, they are very pretty arent they? im sorry for your loss, and hope that your new fish is feeling better and swimming around soon! I got my betta a few days ago and he was a bit sulky at first as well, but now he seems fine. hopefully that is the case with yours too.

Haha that's cool :D I was spending forever at petco deciding between my fish, a red double tail, and this really cool crowntail which was marbled and had a really pretty red and blue-grey tail, which I kind of wish I had gotten but I could only get one :( lol.

Congratulations on your new guy!

Inactivity is often a sign of being too cold. Is your bowl heated? What temperature is the water at right now?

Bettas are tropical fish that originate in hot & humid Thailand. A tank with a heater set to 78-80 degrees is ideal for them to live a good life.

Also I reccomend a tank 2.5 gallon or more. This gives your betta a decent amount of swimming room and also requires less frequent water changes since ammonia doesn't build up as fast.

Are you using water conditioner? :)
