Guess what Grandma bought the wee one...

So it seems that I will be going to Petsmart to buy a 2.5 g and a filter. I live in Puerto Rico so no heater needed . I told Grandma (my mother) to change the water every 2 days until the kid and the fish (who will hopefully survive the week) come back home. I guess I'm having a new guest at home. Grandma says its orange, and if it is, coolio! This does not mean I'm not getting the beautiful marble CT I saw at Petsmart, but he'll be my other betta cubicle mate. Thanks for letting me vent guys.

Hello fellow PRican!
Congrats on the new fish! I'm wanting to get a pet for my office but that means shopping for tanks... and I'm picky.
Post pics of them when you have them!

Do you know about Indian Almond Leaves? Because there's trees everywhere in PR!
We call them "Arbol de Almendras"

Vilmarisv are you talking about the almond trees you usually find near the beach? Because if it is that one, SCORE for me!!!! It never crossed my mind that it would be the same tree but I just googled it and it is!!!
Its cool to finally meet another PRican on this thread even if you are all the way in Washington . Definitely get the work tank. I have the Aqueon Mini bow 2.5 g and is great for my tiny Freyja. She has some anacharis and soon some fern. She also got some ghosties, one of which she already munched on . As an aside, the new guest is a solid red VT. He looks very handsome from the blurry Iphone pic .

Those are the ones! Lucky, lucky!!!
I would be careful about picking the ones on the sand... they will probably have salt on them.
I visited in January and was planning to go pick some and mail them back but really the shipping would've cost me close to what Amy charges on ebay so I didn't think was worth the effort. If I still lived there it would be different because you can just pick a few and get more when you need them again.
You might've done the research already but only pick the brown, naturally dried ones and give them a good rinse before you put in the tank.
Dried banana leaves are also good for them!!

Great to meet you too! I grew up in Isla Verde and lived in Bayamon until 2008.
