Hey, I'm new to this forum. I've looked at this website a few times before, but finally decided to Jon today after a frustrating trip to Walmart (so I figure this is a safe place to vent). My father has owned betta fish for years, and I recently got my first one, a black crowntail (not from Walmart) and I love him! I've started getting to the point where I go look at the bettas whenever I'm in a store that sells them, so when I had to go into Walmart with my mom, I naturally went to the fish section to have a look. I've always known Walmart didn't take good care of their fish, but wow! All of the containers were dirty, and several fish looked very sick. I'm not sure what tail-rot looks like for certain, but I would venture to say that one had a bad case of it. The entire fin on top looked shredded and like part of it was missing. Then I noticed that one tiny container had three, yes THREE betta fish in it! They all looked stressed and I was surprised they weren't fighting. I realize it was probably customers, probably kids that did it, but doesn't anyone check on these animals? I told the manager, and he seperated them, but geez!... So in short, I'm wondering if there is any legitimate petition out there to mane Walmart stop this? Please let me know. I would love to sign it!
