My Fish Plays Dead

Neptune just scared me so badly, I was checking the temp on his tank and then looked for him. At first I didn't see him, and then I realized he was bent so his whole body was INSIDE the filter intake with his tail trailing over the side of it, motionless. I freaked out, thinking he must be dead, reached in and grabbed the filter, and he jumped and swam over to me all grumpy, like I'd just cruelly woken him up from a nice nap

I'm glad I'm not alone in having fish that try to give me heart attacks! I can't imagine how some of the sleeping positions I find in them are comfy XD Neptune does have some of the longest fins I've ever seen though, so maybe something about the filter helps him feel weightless.

Mine likes to wedge himself behind the filter and he'll stay there for hours. The filter's on the back of my tank so it sometimes takes me 10-20 minutes to find the little stinker with my flashlight. I'm afraid to move the filter though because some part of me thinks he'll get stuck.

I saw Flare's bones. It was so creepy. I saw her backbone. OOPS! I was supposed to let the little guy rest in peace. I wanted to see her really bad. I guess that's what happens when you don't let people rest in peace.
