Give it time.

I lost my five wild betta babies and I'm still not over it. I honestly felt like I didn't want fish anymore.

But it passes. Hey -- why not turn the empty space into a shrimp sanctuary? Fill it with plants, a dozen or so cherry shrimp. They are fun to watch and breed readily in good water with a bit of plant cover. That way it's not empty.. and you'll have time to mourn your fishy.

Thanks guys! I guess I felt that my money was wasted because all of the tanks were full, and then suddenly they weren't. So that makes me feel like I want another one, just to have them full again. If I go looking for one, I'll likely get another red vt to give him a chance at a good life (vs someone buying him and sticking him in a cold bowl) unless I find a unique one.

It's funny that not long ago, I wondered what I would do if I started losing the bettas. Even then I felt that it wouldn't be worth it to start over especially since I have a few unique/hard to find colors. I figured that I would just do community tanks and have a lot of different little fish. But then again, I would miss the individual connection you form with each betta.
