if you're leaning away from a regular domesticated betta, why not put an imbellis in there?

So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger-all down here on Earth.

there are a few differences in their care than domesticated splendens, i know there are some members here who keep a lot of wilds who could give you the specifics, but my understanding is that they're no more difficult, just different. i've personally been wanting a few for myself (due to their docile nature, it's possible to keep them in tanks together provided there's enough space, cover and the ratio is at least two females per male)
