Short rant

this forum used to be so much more friendlier :(
Now all the newcomers are being scared away...
we all started with not knowing anything right?
90% of us went through the cold, tiny bowl phase.
so let's all be kinder to those who just started out, ok?
I hope that everyone will use the knowledge they have all gained here with kindness, as these knowledge were imparted to you with kindness.

/end rant

I don't remember it being much different than it is now...we always got some helpful members and a few who felt the need to push their views a little too aggressively... then again, I've been on here in sporadic bursts.

Agreed! I've noticed that in the past few weeks that people have started to become more snarky over the smallest things. Perhaps twolovers is right, maybe people just are getting cranky over the weather. Personally I love the cold, I get all cheerful this time of the year.

It must be confusing for members to see one person being comforting and friendly and others being passive aggressive...

Many of my scaly friends from my original tank from 2011 have passed, except for two! I am in the process of re-doing my tank. :)

I agree with Lady K. We are here to learn. Snarkiness is just going to chase people away. It's one thing to tell someone something like, you might want to take your betta out of that half gallon container and put him in something bigger, something that will be big enough for a heater. He would be a lot happier. As opposed to, omg you keep him in a half gallon with no heater? omg he's going to DIE!
