is there any possibility of putting the 10g in your safe room? if they're there for thanksgiving i cant imagine them staying too long in a different room. its another option that is open as a temporary solution.

Moving a 10G is no small task. Honestly if it's looking that bad I'd cup the boy from the 10 and use a temp tank for him (even a giant salad bowl).

I agree w/Silverfang...vases, big bowls, even a big plastic/rubbermaid container. Put them in your room and, if there isn't one already, install a keyed entry door knob...that is what I would do in your situation!

Also, smack him (your cousin, not the fish =) ) on the side of the head when you get home. Honestly, people should be more respectful of other people's property.

I turned the 10 into a sorority tank. Because of cold water the females are in holding tanks in my room. So at the moment they are in my room. When I get the heater for the girls, I'm also getting a lid that locks!

Do they make locking lids for tanks? Might come in handy with my 3yr old daughter...she is a terror! No matter what punishment I give out, she'll repeat the infraction...thank the goddess that she so far leaves my tanks alone!

Earlier, I meant get an outside door knob for your bedroom...outside door knobs have key locks and are usually sturdier than an inside door knob that has keys!
...you know, like the kind of knob one would put on a door leading outside.

That's cool...hey, don't they always say that it's a good day if you learn at least 1 New thing every day. I didn't know they came with locks on lid...now I will have to go look for one :)
