swallowed tank water yuk!

A little while ago, when I was cleaning my girl's tank, I accidentally stopped the flow of water from the siphon, so I started it up again and in the process, sucked a little too hard and ended up with tank water in my mouth. Yucky! Poo! Puke!

Blech! I've done that too, nasty nasty. Thankfully I've since learned how to start my vacuum without sucking!

I'm just using a water tube as my siphon, then I use a turkey baster to suck up all the yuckies at the bottom. Maybe if I need to get a real siphon. :/

i always just spit it into the bucket and keep going. i've gotten to the point that i can tell if there's a plant in one of our tanks that's started dying from the taste of the siphon water.

So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger-all down here on Earth.

OK, I admit it -- I laughed my head off about this. And then I thought about all the ocean water that I've swallowed. And you know, it's pretty much the same thing. It just tastes a little saltier. Yum. LOL

Hahahahahahhahaa, I do this almost everytime I siphon out water. I just spit it out in the bucket and carry on. However a few weeks ago when my tank crashed, the water turned brown and smelled foul. I got some of that water in my mouth and a drop in my EYE! I almost freaked out...
