Help Stop PetCo Baby Betta Sales.

I've set the petition for 1000 signatures. If anyone agrees it needs more, I can change it. If you have any issues with the letter that is written, I can change it. I want as many signatures as possible. Please and thank you.

I do have a question. How does a petition, such as this, actually stop Petco or other chain stores from selling anything? I've signed a few petitions about other things to see little to no results sadly :/ I've lost the concept of a petition.

But I do wish you luck. You may need to do more than a petition. People don't sign just because... They need to see, learn, know, do.

Breed for the breed, not for the money; the words any REAL breeder would understand.

You must know nothing in order to know all, for all is nothing and nothing is for all.

Sadly, it won't stop them. They found a niche and seen that these baby bettas will fly off the shelves and now there isn't anything anyone can do to stop them from selling outside of no one in the world buying another Petco baby betta.. but face it, not many can resist.
A petition can raise awareness, maybe work on trying to get Petco to give out literature about proper baby betta care.. people read it, they may think twice to buying one due to the added work they have, etc.

Over the years I've learned you can't always stop something when dealing with corporations and their money.. but you can teach them something, change some aspects for the better, etc.

Good luck with your petition though - those babies need as many voices as they can get in hopes to grow up healthy.

Breeder so I have too many to count and too many named to list here!

Signatures help petitions. On, each signature sends an automatic email (that signers can preview) addressing the problems directly to the inbox of whoever the petition is addressed to, such as the PetCo CEO or whoever this petition is aimed at. The idea is that with enough frequent signatures, whoever is being bombarded with emails will notice and react. It HAS worked and HAS made change but people who do not try hinder such attempts.
