I went to Petco

I went to Petco. (Again) In the Baby Betta Lounge, I saw a betta fry. A BETTA FRY!!! Is it too small to be here? I just wanted to take it home and care for it in Perry's old tank. I refused to leave until I got the fry. But...I just ended up getting carried out the store. I knew it was a fry because I saw it's spine and it was smaller than the others. I just WISH I could have it!

A baby like that wouldn't likely survive without live foods so there isn't much you could do unless you ordered some..

taking a break from fish-keeping.
3 lovely male betta still keep me company.

You need live food to rescue a baby that young, baby brine shrimp are the easiest to raise, at least i have great luck with my brine which I raise for my adult fish but if need be I have babies for fry. Vinegar eels are also great for smaller fry. When I rescued my baby I also cut up frozen bloodworms and wiggled the chunks around on a fine pair of tweezers I feed my frog with. She would snap those up too. You can't start feeding pellets until they get closer to juvie size and age and even then you have to crush them so they can fit in their mouth. They need clean warm tanks set to at least 80 though when I had a baby it was 81-82 to keep her really warm. Also daily water changes are best, siphon the water out and siphon it back in SIPHON....do not pour water into a tank with a baby. The stress could kill it o.o Also lots and lots of hiddy places and feedings 3-4 times a day depending on the portion size you feed. Live plants would be best, and some floating so baby can rest close to the surface.
