Leonard vs the frozen blood worm!

Yesterday I bought frozen blood worms as a treat for my beautiful boy Leonard. He's never had them before and let the first two I dropped in there sink to the bottom. This morning I put one in there and as it was sinking to the bottom he bit a piece of it and let the rest fall. A few minutes later I go back and see him with his face in the gravel. Low and behold he was "fishing" for the blood worm. He picked it up in his mouth, dropped it again, pecked at it and was staring at it as if waiting for it to move again. It was so funny to watch. I guess we'll try blood worms another day.

I'm surprised he didn't inhale those at first encounter. I never had a betta that refused or even spat out a frozen bloodworm.

he's definitely a strange one lol Today I tried again but used tweezers instead to hold it at the surface. He looked at it, looked at me, the ate it. He seemed to like it so I gave him another small one just to try again and he let it fall. Silly fish!
