Question Betta Bubble Nests

This may be a funny question, but it came to mind today while I was watching my two bettas. I've seen them blow bubbles at the surface of their tank, but most of the time the bubbles pop right away. When they build a bubble nest how do they keep them from popping?

The bubbles are coated with their sticky saliva, that's how the eggs are protected and how the bubbles won't pop. They're just protecting their territory from each other, no worries. :)

Interesting. I was just wondering what the difference was in the bubbles The betta I used to have blew nests every time I changed his water but the two I have now hardly ever make them.
