Talking The Simple Joys of Owning Bettas

I was just thinking, while doing water changes for the two boys I have with me at school, how lovely it is to first introduce the fish from their store cups to their pretty new tanks. After being to cramped in such a tiny space, they always seem to be so happy to swim around in multiple gallons of water.

What about you guys? Any other simple joys you get from your fish?

I love watching them dance and interact with things in and around their tank. They're so graceful!

I have two divided 10g tanks, each with one boy and one girl. The simple joy I get is waking up to a new bubble nest each and every morning- and watching the boys show off! But that's worn down in the last week or so, so I suppose now it's seeing them swim through they're new live plants :D

That moment when your fry become old enough, and aware enough, to start to greet you at the front of their tank each time you walk past.

When I wave goodbye to Rain before I have to leave and he follows me to the end of his tank where he watches me go out the door.

I love how curious these fish are. The thing about the fry starting to recognize you, and coming to greet you when you're nearby is so very cute.

My favourite part is seeing them enjoying their new environments after small shop tanks and then travelling in a plastic bag. :)

Life.

I love how they are strong and will forgive you for beginner mistakes and also are just so sweet and bond with their owner!
