stuck trying to name your new fish?

...and you're a scifi/fantasy geek, i can help! just give me a photo and a little description of his/her personality, and i'll find you a great Elvish (tolkien-based) name for your new friend!

So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger-all down here on Earth.

Godric/Eric/Sookie/Frodo/Sam/Vlad/Rasputin/Genghis/Hannibal/TARDIS/
LaVey/Crowley/Dahmer/Ripper/Al/Thor/Skadhi/Freija/Sunna/Mead/Mani/
Loki/Grendel/Gail/Beowulf/Camilla/River/Bathory/Arwen/Lafayette/Deb/Jack Skellington (soon)

He is shy and sweet natured, and is still getting used to me. I can't call him Mr. Yellow forever :)

This guy is a little bit bolder and aggressive. He's certainly more curious than his brother but is terrified of cameras and new things.

This one is extremely curious, aggressive, active, and gorgeous to boot. He loves to flirt with my girls and isn't afraid of anything (for now, lol)

And this is my friend's new girl. I'm just babysitting her until her tank is ready but I don't think it'll hurt to call her mine for now. She's curious and sweet.

this one is giving me some trouble, because "Golden Friend" translates to "Mellon-Mallen" which just sounds....awkward. "Aur Mallen" would be nice for him, it means "Golden Sunlight"

"Aran Maethor" - "Warrior King"

"Daer Orchall" - "Lofty Bridegroon" since he's so flirtatious, and as the brits say "fit but he knows it"

"MÓr o-Mellon" - "Jewel of my Friend"

Thanks! These names actually fit because I have two named Ekaia (Elvish for "sea" I think) and Nessa who is a vala.

Cool thread. Well I'm a Tolkien fan, so maybe you can have a go at this guy. He's a double tail, loves to flare! And is a coppery color, more so than the picture depicts. I've only had him a few days, so no name yet.

what about "Gaer Braig" - "Fierce Copper"?

Thank you! That's a great name for him. He is very fierce indeed, flares at everything. Pronunciation help?

it would be pronounced like "Gair Brayg"
