best way to divide a tank

so i bought my betta mardi about two weeks ago and put him in a 1g unheated unfiltered tank before i found this website so after i did some reading i ordered a 5g for him so i went to petco to buy some more decor for the tank and i saw the most beautiful elephant ear betta i had ever seen he had a nemo fin so i bought him now i need to make a tank divider for him so mardi amd the new betta can both have a nice filtered heated tank but i don't want to buy one i want to make it out of some type of mesh so the heat will still go threw it also can't be permanant

What I do is get this plastic mesh

And cut to however big you want it.
Then get some plastic binder holders like this

And clip it onto the edges of the mesh then slide it into your tank. If you dont need it then you can just silde it out again
Make sure its a very snug fit though
