What "Type" of Betta is he?

Hi All,

These pictures are of one of my newest Bettas. I couldn't get both the finnage and color both in one shot, so I did two.. I know he is a Double Tail, but double tail what? HM? Not Delta or veil. Love those "smoke ring" looking markings on his fins and tail. Is there a term for them? (My first Betta is a Pink and Platinum EE...mutt? lol. he is a character)

This silhouette shows a pretty good flare...

And this his colour... (BTW, that is the DIY divider I learned to make from a link on here)

Thanks!

Thanks, MattsBettas! Whew, that's a mouthful . But a way better descriptor than "that blue pretty one"

Thanks all- I got lucky finding this guy and one other, a plakat (I'll be posting a photo of him soon for ID help as well as soon as I can get a decent photo).

I'd been frustrated in ordering the grade A Bettas I wanted online for a couple of weeks. I was out doing some retail therapy, which included a Petco. One of them has a rep for getting some nice bettas, and when I saw this and his "roommate" I couldn't resist

Of course, right after I got them, the online buying issues were solved, lol. Oh well, maybe they needed rescuing and its probably best I get more Betta keeping experience before going for the show grade...

hm...a halfmoon double tail...and the color..I think he's actually from solid blue line..but this one has variegated fins, although not on all his fins ( doesn't appear on his dorsal )

You are quite right about variegated fins, the dorsal only has it on the trailing edge . The color issue is challenging, because it under some light he is dark blue/black all over with blue iridescense, other light, such as this, the blue is dominant.

Thanks for the comments!

Here you can just see the trailing edge of the dorsal...

Now to get a proper ID for for the other

Oh, I didn't see his dorsal's transparent edge before until u showed that last pic :) apart from his color, I think overall, he's a great DT, well balance, and his body looks acceptable ( lots of DT's have "deformed" body ).
