Smile really awkward question...

Well I was looking at Sparkey the other day, and suddenly wondered, do fish pee? I know they poop cause they digest food, but they breathe water and when we eat air.... Well, you know what happens.... so do they?? I know it awkward, but interesting... and if they don't pee, do they do what we do when we eat air??

I either talk to my fish when I'm mad, or I'm mad because I talk to my fish.

Bettas breathe from the surface, the same air we breathe. The oxygen goes into our lungs, so we don't really eat it unless bubbles get trapped in our food. And that creates gas buildup, which leads to... well, gas. I'm not sure if fish pee or not, but I would think that they would if their food got wet.

A kid's book we took out many many years ago from the library was titled, "Do fish get thirsty?" which would imply that if they do get thirsty, they drink, then they would expel the excess liquid. I don't know. Never really thought about it.

I was under the impression the ammonia leeches out through their gills.
