When does a betta become and EE/BE?

At what point does a bettas fins reach the point that it is labeled EE/BE? I am just wondering, as I have no experience with this type of betta, but do admire them.

EEs and BEs are born with big fins, the betta must have the EE gene for it to be a EE and even some bettas with the EE gene aren't EEs...Its not the same thing as DeT growing into HMs or HMs growing into OHMs, they have to be born with big fins inorder for them to have big fins... I hope that answered your question!

GIVING AWAY PLANTS? REAL OR FAKE, I'LL TAKE THEM

3 males: Mardi (OHM) - Mason (HMPKCTEE) - Maddux (HMPK)
1 female: Mercedes (Undecided again) Maybe VT or Delta

I know that LOL . I'm just meaning like fin size. At what point is it considered an EE/BE? Like does the fin have to be a certain proportion of the body? Or certain percentage? I guess I didn't word my question very well.

Actually, I did learn something from you. I was not aware a DeT could grow into a HM or a HM into an OHM. I assumed they were what they were.

I wouldn't have known that either except for my betta Mardi did that in a span of 2 and a 1/2 months!!
