lost first betta..gonna try again

I bought my first beta 3 days ago..he didnt survive I have a 10 gallon tank live plants a small breed of algea eater and a good log for hiding, any suggestions, new shipment of bettas coming into petsmart thursday ill be getting one then

Has you tank been cycled? You might want to focus on doing that before adding more fish.

I just cleaned and conditioned and have it cycling right now

Oh good, I just wanted to make sure because you said you were getting on Thursday and a tank certainly can't cycle in 2 days

Yeah

Mine took forever, probably about 8 weeks, but they do make products to help speed it along. Or, if you know someone with an established tank, that can help too

I used 3 products,a ph balancer, a dechlorinator and an ammonia and nitrate reducer, those were recomended by pet smart
