What lovely colors he has! I'm sure he'll be even more beautiful when he's feeling all better.

Way to go wish rescuing him. He's a pretty little betta and I hope he does well. Like others said though, if he doesn't make it then you know he at least was given a chance and got to live part of his life outside of a tiny cup. All the best with him! He looks like a little fighter.

Honestly I think 1gallon is too dangerous to heat because it could easily overheat. I have nothing against 1gallon if you keep your room temp. warm enough, but I really do think a heater for a 1gal is not a good idea. I keep my bettas in clear storage containers. I keep my bettas in 3 and 5 gallon clear storage containers. The 3gals are really 4gal but ofcourse I don't fill it up all the way. The 3gals that I use are like this, and I drilled large holes on their lids:

They cost 2.99 at big lots. They have more space width wise than depth wise which is why I think they are a pretty good option, they are even wider than my 5gallon ones.

Btw the 5gals cost me about 6.49.

I think 3-5 gallons is pretty safe to heat. Add some gravel, plants, and decorations and they are a great CHEAP homes for bettas.

Well, he made it through the night! He just had breakfast, and he's swimming around. He doesn't look any better than yesterday, but I didn't really expect him too.
If I had to guess age I'd say 5-7 months, I have a baby betta who's about 3 months and they're pretty close in size.

Thought I'd give an update on Max :) He's doing pretty good. I didn't think he'd make it on Monday and Tuesday, his fins were curled all up and he was breathing really heavily. I went and got him some AQ salt and started treating him with that and he has improved greatly. His fins are uncurling, he's getting his color back, his appetite is great and he is constantly on the move. I'm hoping that maybe this won't be such a tough recovery after all :)

I'm so excited, his fins are finally completely uncurled :) he does have rot, but it looks pretty mild, I'm so excited though because he is turning blue! I'm so happy his color is darkening up, his fins look like they'll be red with some blue at the base, he even has some red spots on them like a dalmation. So happy for him :)
