Help choosing a stand?

Hi everyone!i was just wondering whatkind of stands all of you use? im moving soon and i want the setup of my bedroom (The basement!) to have a secluded section for fish and reptiles.. but that means special shelving, right!?

i really llike this sand, but do you all think it could hald a planted NPT tank on top and a bunch of 2-10 gallons on the bottom shelves?http://www.lowes.com/pd_64014-80752-...7C1&facetInfo=

or would it be safer to just get this?

Thanks!

I think it might be better to get the stand from Petco so you can ensure that it will be able to hold the tank.

I totally understand I intend to eventually make a custom cabinet so that all my fish tanks can fit in it and be secure!

I personally like the metal ones because they're just like the shelving units we had at work and they hold a ton of weight.

If you get the 48 inch Brooklyn from Petco it holds 6 five gallons side by side. You could also add a shelf and put a few 2.5's on the bottom. I was going to do that but felt I would not enjoy seeing my fish as much or cleaning the tanks sitting on the floor so I just added another rack.

This is part of my setup before I put fish in the tanks:

My tanks are all Tetra 5.5 gallons.

Nah! It's fun to discuss and you can sometimes avoid making a purchase that doesn't work out based on other's past experiences.

I just got this stand to hold my 40B and you can split it to be 2 side by side shelves instead of being one tall one. Works perfectly and will hold any tank that will fit onto it. The bottom shelve is going to hold a 10 gallon and an 8 gallon after we get the 40B up and running. This shelving unit is pretty popular with people with 40B and multiple tanks because the sides are finished and closed, doesn't look to much like a shelving unit and more like a piece of furniture. It's going in our living room and will look wonderful.
