Question Aquabid - How does it work?

I mean I know they come in the mail but I find it awkward having Betta's sent through the mail so I was wondering how exactly it worked?

Yeah same here, my fish is being shipped out tmorrow or Tuesday and that's how I understand it. They bag 'em, put packing peanuts and other insulation in the box, a heat pack, and send 'em to you!

Wow, that seems so out of place and like it would put a lot of stress on the fish. That can't be healthy!! But I guess it's the same way with how they're transferred to pet stores in trucks and stuff... But wouldn't they run out of air in the bag??

Well you have to ship them pretty quickly, either overnight or priority (2-3 days), so they won't run out. It's a big bag they ship them in, and you don't fill it all the way up with water. And yes, pet store bettas are shipped the same way so either way they go through it. Some people argue that buying off aquabid is better because you aren't supporting local pet stores and chain pet stores that mistreat their fish, but... it's all in a matter of opinion I guess.
