Red face The move was successful and Cinder...

.... is okay! Although he nearly died a few times...

STORYTIME!

About CINDER!!!!!!:
He made it up here safely and he is currently swimming happily in his tank after being cooped up in a boring, plastic container for three days with minimal food. He is perfectly okay, though he DID have some near-misses on his life.

The first night of driving, I was encouraged to leave Cinder in the truck while I spent the night at a family friend's house in the desert. The next morning, I discovered, to my horror and frustration, that Cinder was FROZEN (apparently deserts are cold at night lolololol). I quickly brought him inside, filled a sink with HOT water and placed the holding tank into the water. Gradually, he thawed out and came back to life. He was pretty mad at me, though.

The next night, I vowed to not leave him in the rig. As things turned out, there was no motel vacancy and I ended up spending the night in the truck... the temperature DROPPED again. So being the fantastic fish owner that I am, I tucked Cinder, and the holding tank, under my shirt and slept sitting up so he wouldn't freeze. The next morning I discovered Cinder curled up as close as he could get next to my belly. After that he seemed pretty okay (and considerably happier, haha!).

The third night, before moving into the apartment, I spent the night at a friend's house in my new town. I brought Cinder inside and placed him in the basement by their fish tank so he could "socialize". As things were, the temperature dropped again... and I ended up sleeping with Cinder AGAIN... though this time he was wrapped in his own blankets on the carpet.

Yes, he is THIS spoiled.

Final obstacle for Cinder involved getting back into his original tank... which was going well until I broke his thermometer and mercury spilled into the tank. !!!! Thankfully he was not in the tank at the time. I thoroughly cleaned everything and dumped out the contaminated water. After a prayer and a refill of the tank water, Cinder was back at home... and couldn't be happier.

Cinder seems to take the cold quite well, considering! Good to hear he made it out okay. You must have been sore from sleeping upright in a seat, though.
