Talking New to the Forum!

Hey everyone!!

I have been coming here since January when I bought my first Betta ever! You all have such great advice! Now, 5 months later, I've decided to join and I'm so glad I did! I'm really loving all the pictures of beautiful bettas and all the imaginative names!

My Betta's name is Beethoven. He's a red and blue crown tail and I love him so much! I made my screen name Beethoven because really, it's all about him. He's been ill recently but recovering, I believe. He made a bubble nest for me for the first time in about two months which leads me to believe he's feeling at least a little better. =)

I'm looking forward to seeing more bettas, having more betta discussions and learning more as I read through the posts and continue my journey with Beethovie.

This is him last night. His tail fins are not anywhere near as long as they were when I got him. They're getting better though. I'm not worried. He's doing very well. I'll have to try to snag a pic when he's flared. His tail has these beautiful lighter blue spots that take my breath away. I <3 my fish! I got him at a Petland. They don't really care for their bettas very well but that's the only petstore nearby and Beethoven was super happy when I brought him home so it's all good.

He's in a 1 gallon glass bowl. I don't like it at all. I'm actually buying him a new 2 gallon vase (It's really more of a bowl but it's prettier) this weekend after I get paid. I'd love to get him a corner tank and I've been looking at them but I just don't think I have the room. I live in the dorms and we have a lot of space, actually but not anywhere near enough on desks and what little shelf space we have for a tank. I keep going back and forth because I could probably make the room but I love having him on my desk where I can interact with him a lot and see him when I'm working, ya know? Right now he only has one plant and some blue rocks. It's not his normal setup because he has a small case of what I believe is fin rot. I honestly have no clue how that happened because I change his water regularly. He started acting weird after Spring Break when his routine was interrupted. =)

A 2gal vase would work great! Just make sure to get a heater.
