So I had an Idea... Opinions??

So I know that there are quite a few people on here that have access to pet shops that carry some really nice bettas, deltas, plakats, doubletails etc. And equally as many people who don't have access to anything more unique then veiltails and the occasional crowntail. So I thought we could start sort of a trading center or whatever on here. People looking for a specific betta can post on here and other can look for it, have the person send them the money ($6.00 verses $20.00 on aquabid) and shipping costs, and buy the betta and send it. And vice versa if someone finds a really nice betta somewhere they can buy it and post it on here for the price they paid for it. it would help a lot of people get some really nice fish without having to pay ridiculous import costs.

I mean just today at petco I found 2 royal blue butterflies HMs, an orange dragon SD, A black orchid CT, a green/red metallic butterfly RT etc.

So what do you all think??

I think that's a great idea. As long as it was understood that DOA fish are a risk and not the shippers fault I don't see anything wrong with it.

I think it's a great idea too! I frequently see such lovely bettas at my Petco and I'm always thinking, "Darn, I bet someone on Bettafish.com would love to adopt him!"

Oh, nice idea. Plus, I'll start working at Petco in the middle of June and they are scheduled to start getting the HMPK lines between now and then. Annnd I'll get an employee discount and first look at the new shipments :)

Packing isn't as hard as it seems. If you can get your hands on styrofoam board thats best but I've used bubble wrap and newspaper successfully on priority shipping, I have no doubt the same packing would be even safer on express.

Shipping bags are the key, you can't ship a fish in the cup because he'll get knocked around all over the place. Shipping bags are pretty cheap and last a while. Just remember you need 2 bags per fish.
