Umm that's strange could you post a pic?
I would say Big Ears happen by selective breeding but you never know if Haruki was young and he is one.

his fins move too fast, like I see the colored part, but after that, there is a cellophane frill, and it is cute, but I realized it hen he was swimming and I was like "heyy something isn't normal."

I was on aquabid the other day and was looking at a betta who was supposedly
"big eared". I would post a picture of him but the auction's not on anymore. His pectoral fins were absolutely ginormous, about half the size of his tail (he was a veiltail.) and the flap of skin under his gill cover (sorry, I forgot the name for now...) was huge! It went down as far as his anal fin. It pushed out his gills a little bit and made him look like he was about to flare. And his fins in general were just ginormous. Feel sorry for the poor fish, it must've been hard and uncomfortable to swim.

In the hobby for 9 years.

Your boy isn't a big ear. His pectorals are a good size.
