Question Do your snails reproduce like crazy?

I would love to get a snail for my 29 gal that I want to just have some guppies or platies in, but the apple snail we had years ago reproduced on its own and we had baby snails for 2 yrs after it died. Are there snails that dont reproduce on their own?? The only other snail I know about are mystery snails.. Thanks guys! If this is in the wrong section can someone please move it? thanks

Apple snails don't reproduce on their own either. If yours laid eggs after you got her, she must have been pregnant when you got her.

Apple snails are very closely related to mystery snails and have separate male/female sexes.

Another snail that has separate sexes are nerites.

The olive nerite is a snail that needs brackish water to reproduce but it lives just fine in fresh water.
