I woke up this morning to see Peanut dead. :-( I did a full water change a few days ago, and he was fine. I rinsed out everything and washed everything, as normal. I think there must be something wrong with the almond leaves I'm putting in there- they look clean, but I had the same problem with Augie and Veles. No more almond leaves! :-(
Thanks guys.
Bettalover2033, I always wash their tanks with vinegar (and rinse well, of course.) I rinsed it about 5 times before I was happy, and I have not had problems with vinegar at all. I am quite sure it was the almond leaves.
Yeah, I was. I was really looking forward to that. I just emailed my breeder asking if he had anymore males, and he said he thought he had 2- both black. I'm waiting for a response.
But I miss Peanut. He wasn't here to greet me when I walked into my room today.
Edit- I don't mean to sound... well... mean or anything, but I am about to scoop him out (I didn't get home too long ago, and I just saw him dead right before I left in the morning, and I was late) But I think he died of... a tumor or something... his "beard" is a little out of his gill plate and it has a big white "mound" on it.... So wierd.
I'm so sorry ): He was really pretty. It always sucks to lose one...
