Hola! New to Bettas

Hi! So, I'm new to bettas, don't have one yet, but will when I'm settled into a new apartment (as long as the landlord agrees). I've been reading through this forum until then and looking around online. I'm not sure how big the tank I have is, that is if I can find it... I used it for Guppies when I first got them (only raffle I ever won was for Boris and Natasha!). If I can't find it I'll be saving up for a petco tank, so long as their sale stays ($1 per Gallon!).

Anyways, I was looking into where to get a Betta in Oregon without having to buy from Petco, but I can't seem to find anyone! :( I would love to rescue, If I could just find someone in the Pacific Northwest Area! If not a rescue, I would welcome a home-bred betta into my home. I don't have a color or gender preference, I just want the fish that says it belongs with me, ya know?

Even so, I'll be around and I will definitely post when I find THE fish for me :D

Welcome! You better go buy your tank very soon! I work at my local petco and they are going INCREDIBLY fast!!

You can always check craigslist to see if anyone wants to rehome a betta.

Welcome to the forum! =]
Good luck finding your tank! =]

Super Walmarts are great places to rescue bettas or to buy healthy ones (on a day a new shipment arrives).

Just go to the pet section where the fishtanks are and then pick up a betta. =]

I'd go when a new shipment comes in though as they'll be relatively healthy then and they'll only need a minor hospital period. =]

I'm a girl! =]

I know! D: But I don't have the money right now :( I do have two tanks, both are at least a gallon, so If i cave into getting a betta before a bigger tank I can always use them until then :)

And no one in my area is selling a betta (or beta, I checked). Thanks for that advice though!

Petco has a great selection of bettas (i think) they sell a varieity of colors and tail types... you may have to wait tho and see what arrives in the shipments... also this is a great place to "rescue" bettas as sometimes their water conditions/ care are poor... plus you might get a discount on a sick betta (if the employees are nice) 4 out of 5 or my bettas are from petco and they are doing great

The Petco near me has GREAT fish if you look at the back shelf, GREAT colors and etc. I was just kinda wondering if there was a fish needing a home near me :)
