Interesting Find...

While I was at Old Town Aquarium in Chicago today I saw a Macrodomis Betta as the tag read. For the hefty price tag of $200 it must be a wild betta of some sort because it wasn't small about 3 inches long and not colorful. It looked like a Tiger Oscar only shrunk down and betta like. Anyone see one like this before, and no not the King Bettas at Petco even thought they look cooler.

I am currently restoring a 1970 Mustang Grande.

I sense goofy astronomical names.

Do you mean Betta macrostoma?

Usually you don't see wilds in a pet store. That is very cool. $200 actually isn't considered expensive when your dealing with wilds.

Those are indeed a wild type of betta. There are many differnt species of betta and splenders and those are just two of many.Usually you can only get the Macs by shipping in.

I have Betta Unimaculata's (another wild type)the males are very pretty and you can keep males and females together with out fighting. There not as aggressive as the domestic's. They can get up to 5 inches though so require a lot of tank room. Also uniquely enough they lovveee colder water then betta splenders.

I also breed and often sell guppies, I have the following strains.

Double Dark Blue Moscows, Half Blacks, and Albino Blue Topaz.

If your interested in purchaseing a pair or trio just pm and i'll let you know what I currently have ready to sell. Or if you just want to see pictures pm me.
