I went to a Petco close to school yesterday and the bettas did not look good at all. Most of them were completely unresponsive, and a bunch were dead in their cups. And they were keeping some of them in those aquarium salt cups, the ones HALF the size of the tiny cups they were already in! D:

There was a beautiful Halfmoon that I was THIS close to rescuing, but I had no money or tank. He was the only one there who looked worth anything. Poor fish.

I guess Petco is just hit-and-miss these days...

My Bettas:

Garnet - Male Doubletail
Epsilon - Male Veiltail
Poseidon - Male Veiltail
Indigo - Male Crowntail

I've been exploring local Pet shops since I got my betta 2 weeks ago, Petco seems alright- lots of variety- single layer shelves, like you guys were talking about.- although one I went to - none of them were moving, and one was dead and appeared to have bitten off all his fins. Petsmart- I don't see any dead, but there sitting in rows were you can't really see the ones in the back. The Local indie petshop had about 12 betta sitting on there shelf display- max- all of them were huge, in crystal clear water, and quite active.
