For those w/ divided tanks w/ boys...

Do you find they eventually stop flaring at each other & just become obsessed with food? lol

Dexter & Lt Shiny Sides could care less about each other after 2 days side by side in the divided 10G...They happily build their nests & double team me to wiggle dance/jump for pellets. lol
Dexter & the CT Mr Brooks though, went at it whenever I turned the light on, ignoring food often.

It depends. Some do, some don't.

Who am I? Well I am a Junior Member of the International Betta Congress and a breeder of white HMPKs, red dragon HMPKs, black/red dragon HMPKs, metallic multi HMPKs, blue masked HMPKs, and now multi color HMs. Soon to add black HMs. I will be showing in New Breeder class in fall of 2012.

My two bettas were pretty aggressive with one another when in a divided tank. I just added plants near the divider and that effectively stopped them from getting annoyed with one another.

Mine never got used to it, even in a large tank with lots of diversions. I tried all kinds of tricks to block their view of each other, but even when they couldn't see, they knew and they were freaking out. I finally had to completely separate them. Sigh...

Right now I'm using counted cross stitch canvas as dividers. I went to Petsmart and bought an actual aquarium divider but just used the green brackets it came with. If you use the counted cross stich plastic though with the very small holes you can't even see through it.

Haha. I got the counted cross stitch plastic idea on here but I didn't realize it wasn't see through. I love that because I was worried about them seeing each other but I didn't want a solid divider that the water couldn't flow through. It's great. I read you can make them out of that and the plastic bindings from report covers but I had to buy the divider at petsmart because I couldn't find report covers.

I saw some black plastic report covers at Staples that would have worked....But I could not find the plastic strips to hold them upright.

I have some Marineland Aquarium Sealant...Will that hold it in place?? Or eat through the plastic? Anyone know?

I've heard of people attaching the dividers permanently to their aquariums using sealant so it should work. Mine actually fits in my tank without it. It makes me nervous but I've only had the setup for 2 days. I've also got the dividers paper clipped to the tank XD

I feel that...I check my divided ones (oldest is a week old) more often and freak when I can't find one lol I fear one super strong strike will knock it over. But it's not likely, just my paranoia. lol
