NAMES needed....

Went in for some more betta food and came out with this little guy. (I should not be going into petstores by myself )

He darts around like hes going to burt through the tank. Not sure if you can see it but the ends of his tail are white,is this his color pattern or a result or damage?stress? any ideas?

Anyway- Im horrible with thinking up names and could really use some help!

You can see a bit of his tail in this one.....

RIP- Gilligan.

Thats the "extra tank" that i had him in to get the other one ready. His new one is a 2gal with a filter, and heater. I know its not big enough but hes going to a dorm room and 2gal is deff. the biggest I have room for.

When I turn the filter on though it pushes him around-its two strong. And its supposed to be "Ideal for bettas" Is there any way to turn it down?

Any name ideas?

RIP- Gilligan.

If you search threads on here for "filter baffle", there is a Do It Yourself thread step by step with pix
on how to lower a too strong filter....It uses a water bottle to divert the flow...I also use aquarium sponges stuck in the filter until It slows to how i want it. :) Both are cheap and easy.

His tail is a cute butterfly pattern :) If the water is clean & the heater is working, then he's probably just nervous being in a new home...give him a few days to chill out, maybe cover the tank with a towel for a few more days too...Oh and a coffee cup would help to give him a hidden place to feel safe. :)

I suck at names so can't help you there sorry!!! lol

alright :) Two gallons is fine so long as you keep up with water changes.

If you have any spare filter media/aquarium sponges, use a rubber band to get it wrapped around the filter intake or infront of where the water pours out of the filter to slow it down some.

as for names, for some reason, he looks like a Jason to me

Welcome! I like the name Jason for him too. A few names I thought of when I saw him: Apricot and Flandre.

Puck (Yellow koi HM king) / Scar (White HM) / Salt 'n Pepper (Silver HMPK) / 'That fish' (Copper butterfly HM) / No name (White DT) / No name 2 (Turquoise/white marble HM) / No name 3 (Lilac HM)

Bo Peep (Cambodian VT) / Goldilocks (Yellow VT) / Joie de Vivre (Multicolour VT) / Lil' Peep (Blue VT) / No name (Dalmatian VT) / No name 2

I was watching Mulan today, and his new name is MUSHU like the red dragon in it :)

It just kind of stuck.

The filter- I rigged something up with a aqua sponge that works but when I put the feed in it swirls around and it takes him alot longer to find it...

Also- I got a 10w heater and plugged it in but I swear its not working...grrr theres the next thing to work on.

RIP- Gilligan.
