Smile Just Curious~ (LFS Betta Female Housing)

Does anyones LFS (mine is 2 and half hours away...) keep their female bettas in a tank already, or are they in cups? Mine keeps some real nice ones in a tank, where it looks like the sorority is already established :D I'm curious about if anyone elses has that... I thought it was real nice :) The males are kept in half gallon mini vases, with clean water, and there arent even that many males :D How much care does your LFS put into bettas?

The Big Al's here had a female sorority for a while, but they don't seem to sell them anymore.

Then we have petstores in the mall that cram a few females in those 0.5 gallon betta kits. :/

Whats an LFS? Sorry that may seem out of place but people say it all the time so I'm wondering.

Baylee - LFS = Local fish store :)

I'm happy to hear SOME places keep their bettas well!
I've never seen a sorority at one :( What a shame!
Most are in the crappy 1 inch of water and half dead looking.

Okay then I've seen 4 LFS' recently, 2 had Bettas in cups with plenty of water that were very active W/N problems or diseases. In the other two, one only gave the fishies just enough water to cover them and there was poop throughout the cup and at the other there were 3 females for sale in a sorority (a bit small, 5 gals) And about 10 male Bettas that were okay but not exactly too happy. There was this beautiful red halfmoon male I saw once that I wanted really bad but I didn't have a spare tank I couldn't get him. When I returned 2 weeks later he was still there but his colors were a bit more faded and he didn't have the fight in him any more.

Some LFS are bad, but some are good.

You know it's weird...the best betta care i've seen (and granted, I've only been to maybe 10 places that sell bettas), has been a WALMART in the country part of town. They all had clean water everytime I went in,
and were very alert. I wanted to tell the manager I appreciate their efforts!

All of my LFS mix the girls in a sorority. They are never separated.

The LFS closest to me keeps a drip system for their bettas, so sometimes there will be females on the side in separate compartments (ONE female/compartment), but they also keep females in with male guppies.
