You can also do what one of our members did, research then get a betta from www.aquabid.com

Who am I? Well I am a Junior Member of the International Betta Congress and a breeder of white HMPKs, red dragon HMPKs, black/red dragon HMPKs, metallic multi HMPKs, blue masked HMPKs, and now multi color HMs. Soon to add black HMs. I will be showing in New Breeder class in fall of 2012.

Vampire, thank-you for the idea, but I actually can't do that. I can't handle auctions, and we don't quite have the money to pay that much for a fish. So, I probably could, but it wouldn't go very well? I also want to look at the fish and see him before I buy one. The Wal-mart here actually does take (relatively) good care of their betta, or there is a petstore I can check out close. If they all look bad there, then I'll look at Aquadbid more.

And hello, Taylor, thank you for the welcome.

Welcome to the forum! If you have a Petco, they usually sell really nice betta there.

Puck (Yellow koi HM king) / Scar (White HM) / Salt 'n Pepper (Silver HMPK) / 'That fish' (Copper butterfly HM) / No name (White DT) / No name 2 (Turquoise/white marble HM) / No name 3 (Lilac HM)

Bo Peep (Cambodian VT) / Goldilocks (Yellow VT) / Joie de Vivre (Multicolour VT) / Lil' Peep (Blue VT) / No name (Dalmatian VT) / No name 2

Yeah I think PetCo gets there nicer bettas from good lines but they're just culls.

Welcome to the forum.

I know you said you were going to wait to get your tank but if you can swing it wal-mart has a really nice 5 gallon tank set up on sale for $19. I believe it comes out to $20 and change to have it shipped to your local store. It's called the Hawkeye 5 gallon.

Glad to see someone doing research before getting the fish. Kudos!
