Did you not have a thermometer in the tank?

Water temperature and tank size? How many watts was the heater??

And, as gruesome as this sounds, what did he look like after he died? Any signs of illness or parasites that could have caused this? Was he acting ill before you got the heater?

I wouldn't suggest using a heater without a thermometer. You definitely have to keep a check on it.

I'm sorry about your fishy. :(

I'm sorry about your loss! :( The water could have gotten much warmer than you thought and cooked him.... maybe he um... burst after he cooked :( :( That's what it sounds like to me...

Do you know how many watts your heater is? I wouldn't use more than 25 watts in a 2 gallon :/

Poor fishy :( :( :( :( May he swim happily in the big fish pond in the sky!

Was your fish bloated? How much did you feed him. Because if he was that would explain alot. The high temps would have made the gas and other matter expand and then...BOOM!

I'm sorry, maybe the heater was too big for his tank?
