Angry Walmart is cruel!

I rescued 2 males and 1 female about a week ago! They all had some really bad fin rot, but the female is almost healed. What shocked me the most was how much smaller the cups are getting!!!

My Walmart has the biggest cups I've ever seen.

Sequin (m), Shortcake (f), Westley (m), and Sir Righty of Walton (m).

:/ It's sad, I know. I took one boy I'd been watching for months at Wal-Mart, treated him for finrot and bloat and gave him to a knowledgeable owner. Too bad Wal-Mart benefited, but I already buy fish things from there.

I don't know if it was all of Canada or just parts of Ontario but a number of years ago the Canadian SPCA got on Wal-Mart's case for how they treated their fish. All the Walmarts in Ontario I've been to since have stopped carrying live stock, it makes me very happy.

Also every PetsMart or LFS I've been to takes decent care of their Bettas (with the exception of one), they aren't in heated tanks or anything but they do get daily water changes and feedings in their cups. The assiociates I talk to are trained and helpful.

I'm curious if I'm just lucky with my stores or if this is becomming a trend in Canada for pets to be cared for somewhat.

Howl - Royal Blue Veil Tail
Blaze - Blue and Red Delta
Mi - Blue Lady
Four - ADF
Seven - Ghost Shrimp
Two - Black Diamond Shrimp
Two - Red Crystal Shrimp
A Few - HitchHiker Snails
One - Golden Apple Snail

You are lucky. Every Walmart close to my County carry live stock and keep them in horrible conditions! But my Petsmart and LFS do a bit better in taking care of their bettas. No daily water changes.. But they are fed..

Yeah, I haven't seen fish at walmart, but even at the pet stores, they don't seem to have very good conditions. Their little containers are just sad, with droopy fins that make me depressed. It's soo sad! :(

The Wal-Mart near me keeps them in okay sized cups, but they don't fill the water much more than halfway. It's too bad.

RIP Russell
RIP Quicksilver
RIP Dominic

RIP 4 cories, 23 Ghost Shrimp, and a snail
