So My new tiger betta boy has made it home safe and sound. But I have a story for you all. So when I got him home I started the drip method to accumulate him. I placed his baggie in a bucket and let the water drip. I went up stars to get a drink and when I arrived back in my room, THE CAT had tipped over the bucket! I FREAKED out and had to quickly think. Luckily there was still water in the bag and some water in the bucket that the betta fell into. So I used a bowl and placed him in there to finish accumulating him. Right now I am watching him close in the bowl.
word of ADVICE. NEVER leave your fish unattended for a second if you have CATS... or dogs. LOL
Hahaha there sure was. His color is back and everything! though he is not eating quite yet which I would expect for a fish that just came home. ^^ I will give him some time to adjust.
here are some shots of him. I will take better pictures later. The glass is dirty. LOL
well isn't he just a beauty!?
Where did you find him, I only seem to find single-colored and limited dual-colored (usually blue and orange) here in Michigan.
OMG Tree he is gorgeous! I am so glad that you got him home safely, well after your incident. I love his little matching iridescent points in his tail fin. I think they are adorable. Also looking forward to seeing more pictures ^.^

Beautiful fish! My cat scratched up the front of my tank when I first got Sam. The cat learned that the fish is off limits after a few squirts with a spray bottle.
Hehehehe.
He's very cute! I am thinking of getting my next one through aquabid.com, I've made contact with the UK transhipper and hopefully all will go well.
I totally feel for you with the cats though. My two are into everything and think the fish is just AMAZING. Although he totally made one back away from his tank with a flare, it was hilarious. We were like... kitty got owned.
@ ShadeSlayer LOL I have a empty gallon tank filled with water just for them to drink out of it. Oddly enough, they don't care about the fish that are in there at all but the water that they can play in and drink. Hahaha!
@dannifluff Ooooh! You will have to show pictures once she/he arrives. Hahaha funny betta was like "get outta my bubble!" to the cat. And I'm sure things will go smoothly. What transhipper did you end up using?
I use Koo yang in MN and he is great! I can drive there myself. Takes about 55 minutes to get there since I am all the way down in Northfield.
sad thing is, when I arrived at the shop, the house behind them had a fire and they are fixing the place up so no fish are present, just the shipping ones. It looks like the building was not too badly damaged except the way back.
I'll be using a UK shipper named Lisa Bradshaw, we've had a bit of a chat over email and she seems nice and knowledgeable. Her next shipment isn't until end of August so I'm putting tank together now and will pick new fish in a few weeks time. Looking at a half moon, I think.
I just noticed his lips are like the opposite of my yellow koi boy, Poutabout Pout has his upper lip in black (it looks like a constant frown or pout), and your tiger koi has his lower lip in black I love it when lips are highlighted like that.
Hahaha you're right! I hope that gets darker too! it looks so cute when he is looking at you from the front. I will try to get some shots of him in that pose.
I gotta see your koi boy! Not sure if I have yet. I will remember once I see him.
Sweet! send me a link on here or even pictures once you take some. I don't mind.
Once he slows down a bit and adds more color, I will take one. He's just all over the place in his new home. he cannot sit still like a child in a play ground. LOL
AND omg "kelp" caught a large shrimp! in front of my eyes to. I was able to take the shrimp out. thought it would not survive so I placed it in the QT tank and when I came back after an hour it was still moving around. So I added it into another 5.5 gallon. (a tank with a slower betta with large fins, Sardine.) lol
