Confused to tail type....*pic heavy*

ok so he was sold as a veil tail....this is what i see as a veil tail:
(below is NOT my fish)

but my "veiltail" has what looks like crown combing:
(this is MY fish but hes extremely hard to photograph)

What do you all think he is tail wise....i think theres a possiblity of maybe a cross or hybrid ??

All veiltails are crosses. Your guy is definitely a veiltail. My veiltails also have the crowntailish look. BTW I love the colors of your fish!

Stahl has that same thing going on with his fins, he looks like a CT with really long fins.
But I think Stahl is indeed a CT. :)
Stunning fish! I still am amazed by your Betta everytime I see a picture of him.

Cup's top fin does that, but he ripped it. o3o could that be the case with your boy, too? Cup's done ripped his top fin like that, and his bottom fin. x-X my boy flares ALOT, and caused it.

Maybe he is mainly a veiltail, but somewhere in his family line there was a crowntail, hence the crowntail look to the fins.

A few of me and my mom's past bettas...
Titus-Red VT
Cutie Pie-Brownish-Tanish body Redish-purple fins
Moonlight-White delta tail

your betta is a veiltail and looks like he may also be part combtail (or he has ripped fins) any betta tail type can be a combtail it is a genetic trait that cause them to look like crowntails but the extended rays are shorter I have a veiltail that looks like a combtail
