Red face Add yet another tank mistake to my repitoire.

Today I bought an empty 10 gallon at Walmart for Genie and Firefly (I felt bad about splitting the 5 gallon).

Well I forgot that I'd need a hood. :[ So whereas it was only $13.00 I think I'll take it back and just buy the kit.... The reason being that the hood costs somewhere in the area of $20 anyway and that's about the same price as the kit so I might as well just spend the extra cash! XD

If I can get a ride to walmart. I'm gonna ask a few friends about that! XD If not I guess I can just look for a bus stop nearby a walmart and walk the rest of the way if I have to. :/ Oh well. My bad.

I did shortly consider getting a really bright lightbulb and putting my lamp above the 10 gallon but I kinda wanted it to grow things in the 2 gallon with. :/ So yeah.

Idk sorry about the spam I just felt like venting and sharing. XD Hope y'all have a great day! XD

I'm a girl! =]

OH no! I had to stop myself from getting one of those when I saw they where overcharging the price of the canopy for it, and then depending the need of a filter, that whould have been an aditional expense too! Sometimes its wise to bring a calculater with ya and add up what it causts to build a tank rather then get a kit that has everything in it.

I don't know if you have a Petco near you but they have their Aqueon 10 gallon tank kit on sale with the Petco card for $30. Only thing it doesn't have is a heater.

We have the Walmart 10 gallon kit but are going to have to get a different heater because it is not adjustable and isn't heating the tank well enough for us (I think because the tank is relatively close to a window and it is super cold out). So the heater being included in the Walmart kit was not so spectacular for our needs.

19 males all but 1 in 5 gal tanks
1 giant in a 16 bowfront
52 female sorority, 15 raspboras, 6 corydora sterbia and BN pleco in a 72 gallon

Other tanks - 135 gallon african cichlids, 48 breeder SA cichlid, 30 gallon hex goldfish, 30 gallon community fish and shrimp tank, 12 gallon hex growout

2 Chihuahuas, 2 1/2 lab 1/2 weim dogs and 2 cats
1 Husband and 1 3 year old princess
