Time to say hi

Hey guys, I just joined the forum a bit ago but figured I should probably post something about myself. I have owned bettas since I was about 10 years old, I currently only have one betta. A red/blue crown-tail male.

I am the lead Pet care Specialist at my local petsmart, and just because I work there doesn't mean I agree with most of what they do. I am there for the animals (bettas among them), customers come #2 to me. That and I think that most of the employees there don't do their homework. I tend to upset customers a lot by telling them what they 'need' for a betta, when they just want to stick them in a cup, not feed them and keep their water at 60 degrees.

Either way, I love my betta and although he is spoiled, he's very healthy. I hope to chat a bit more about bettas on this forum with you guys and maybe clear up some things that the pet stores either do or don't do from my end.

Welcome to the forum......good to have a pet shop employee to give us another point of view.......and I do understand that even with the best intentions sometimes you are bound by store policy.......but it will be interesting to hear about some of the inside information that you are allowed to share with us without violating store policy and risking your job.....

Look forward to hearing and seeing pic of your Betta....

Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy Betta keeping as much as we do!
I could never work at a pet store...I would bring home too many animals. :)

Bettas - Giovanni (HM), Burly (HMPK Giant).
